Hi, new member from New Zealand, I have a vibration problem in my 2008, D40, 2wd, auto, 58k,at between 95kph and 105kph, appears to be comming from the rear, I have had the wheels balanced and changed front to back, but still there, the nissan agent has had a look but can't or don't want to find the problem, have already replace front disc's due to cracks, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome.
Good to have another kiwi on board.

As said above it could be prop shaft,UJ or torque converter.

Mine had the same problem and it was torque converter and I'm guessing that will be your problem too.

Easiest way to tell if it's TC when you feel it try turning the OD off and if it's the TC it will disappair. It's a known problem to D40's all over the world something wrong internally that is only felt when the torque conerter locks up.

Hi Todi,

firstly welome to the site. :cheers2:

As already said its a vey good chance its the Torque convertor, :thumbright:
I had the same issues and my dealer went for half shafts even though I was telling them otherwise, then just over a week or so ago they fitted a new Torque convertor, and all seems well, although I have only drove about 400miles (600km).

But do use the OD on/off to check it more. Good luck, let us know how you get on :cheers2:

Thanks for all the advise, shot down the motorway and took the o/d in and out ,vibration stayed so looks like it maybe u/v or driveshaft, but to the nissan dealer tomorrow to try and sort, will let you know how it goes.
