All working now. The CanM8-Main beam sorted it all out. If have installed an isolator switch on the dash (got this off ebay and it matches the other switches perfect) so if this switch is off lights operate as normal. If this switch is on its Blackpool illumiations. Never took so long to wire in an additional lighting before but I was not giving in. Thanks to all the help and advise I have received. Cheers.
Hi, I'm currently looking at wiring in spots to work on high beam, can you post some photos of your install, where you connect this CAN, and where you broke into the light wiring, wire colours etc. Appreciated

I've ordered and received my CanM8. Having read the install instructions I'm now more confused than ever and need assistance.

I have 5 wires from the interface.
Red
Black
Purple
Blue
White
All are OK apart from Purple which says it's 12v on ignition, and not 12v on High Beam as I'd have expected. I take it the purple is supposed to be the trigger wire to the spotlight relay?

The NP300 has more sophisticated electrics than previous Navaras, this is why you need this interface.

Don't overthink it, follow the instructions as supplied.
Just called CanM8, the purple wire is the signal wire that provides 12v on high beam being selected, and not on ignition as advised on the instructions.

What method did you use to connect your CanM8? I've used the small scotchlok Connectors that requires you to fit a spade on wire 3, lights work fine though on full beam I got radio interference. Now all my warning dash lights are illuminated, no more interference, and new lights still working. I tried unplugging the CANM8, and removing all additional power sourced installs from the battery, but lights are still on. I'm suspecting some problem with the Scotchlock Connectors as everything was OK until I installed it.
I connected 3 of the CANM8 wires into the OBD wiring. The Blue, White and Black. Not sure if the black should have been connected to a different earth source?

Rewired the CanM8 in my vehicle. I purchased an OBD2 extension cable off of EBay. The cable has low profile right angled plugs. I stripped the wires in it before testing for the 3 required wires which I attached to the corresponding wires from the CanM8. Plugged in and cables attached securely. Tested and working brilliantly.

Hi,

I also looking at the canm8 system.
Anybody used the contactless reader for installation?
http://www.canm8.com/power-control-interfaces/canm8-cannect-contactless-reader-12-30v.html

Do you guys see any difference between using the contactless reader or the obd2 extension like Donstar above?
Not sure on the price of the contactless reader but I purchased the obd2 slimline extension cable off EBay for ÂŁ5. I don't like posting links to EBay as in 5 years time when someone stumbles across this post the link won't work.

The cable behind the Socket on the NP300 is quite secured, both Socket and a further cable clip need removed to get enough access to the cables, they are then bound in a plastic wrap & cable holder which needs cut to remove it and gain access to the individual wires required. Using the EBay cable you can sit inside in comfort to cut and connect it to the CANM8 wiring harness, I used BT splice Connectors that contain a silicon gel inside to prevent any future cable damage.

I also got them on Ebay for a couple pounds.

So posted in another thread too,
Got this diagram with a spotlight switch...
Do any electrical minded people think it’s right, don’t want to blow anything up.....?
