Hi to all, i am pretty new here as a poster but have browsed several times to get answers to questions about my truck

was wondering if i could get some advice

so, i have a Pathfinder trek 2.5 dci 2008 , about a week or so ago i got the flashing airbag light, googled a bit and found out how to get into diagnostic mode, turn on and off ignition waiting etc, then got one long two short flashes, which possibly pointed to the clock spring or ECU.

( i did actually get it to clear the flashing at first but as soon as I started driving and turned the steering wheel it started again)

so I popped to a local friendly garage mechanic who plugged in his machine and confirmed the codes were pointing the clock spring also mentioned the tilt sensor in steering wheel ?

he said if I go and buy the part he will fit it for me, which is great, but there are several for sale on ebay ( chinese copies i guess?) as well as the more expensive versions from UK breaker yards, so assuming I have identified the correct one, can anyone tell me if the cheaper ÂŁ15-20 versions are going to be OK ?

I have bought replacement door handles etc from them on ebay before and they have all been fine, but as this electrical I am a bit hesitant
this is one i found which seems to be the right version for my vehicle?

any advice gratefully received

thanks in advance !

thank you, i am beginning to think it is not as simple a fix as i thought, I had hoped as mine was the basic trek model there might be less choices :)

i guess i could take a chance on one of the ebay ones, which do say they are compatible , perhaps I will speak to the nissan main dealer to see if one of their techies can shed any light on it
depends if i get a sensible one to chat to or not !

thanks for your advice!

OK, quick upate, for anyone interested, so i rang the Nissan main dealer with my vehicle details and got the part number 25567EB60A

also quoted me ÂŁ170 plus VAT to supply it and ÂŁ57 to fit it !!!!
i will go try and get a s/h one i think!

Be aware, as this item is more than ÂŁ15, if your really unlucky you may also get caught for import tax, vat and post office handling.
It may well just slip through unnoticed, but even with all this it will still be bundles cheaper than at a stealer-ship.
I agree with Keith, used is NOT the way to go with this part.

great, thank you both for the advice, i didn't really want to go the s/h route to be honest, but just trying to weigh up all options as main stealership prices a bit steep :-((

what do you reckon on all the copies (china? imports) on ebay - worth a try or not?

I have just read the sellers feedback for the link I gave earlier.
Doesn't look so good now, you will have to do your homework and make your own decision.
China makes just about everything these days, I wouldn't be surprised if the OE isn't made there.
E.G.
Even Stihl powertool carbs are made in China, probably on the same production line ÂŁ8 versus ÂŁ80!

thanks, yeah i have contacted one of the china sellers with pretty good ebay feedback and sent the oem over so will see what they say and was about same price maybe few quid cheaper on postage!

fingers crossed ;-)

This is a company in the United Arab Emerates that sells genuine parts at generally discounted prices. https://www.amayama.com/en/search?currency=826&q=25567EB60A

They are charging ÂŁ88.78. That will be plus shipping then import tax then VAT. At a guess you'll end up paying about ÂŁ130 and you'll have to wait for it to arrive.

That one Chris has highlighted from the States seems well worth the punt.

This thread explains how to fit it, a lot cheaper than the dealer: http://www.nissan-navara.net/45-d40-technical-library/24434-drivers-airbag-removal.html

Good luck

thanks , found a UK company ( Billcar.com?) who can supply me a genuine ?nissan new for ÂŁ90 inc VAT so may have to go with that option

shame though as I keep getting conflicting advice re the OEM as several of the china spares ebay sites advertise the closkspring with OEM 25567EB301 and say it same as 25567EB60A ??

i am assuming that is not the case, but they are about ÂŁ20 so wondered if worth a punt?
