firstly can i say im new to the site, found it today while browsing and think
its excellent.
My question is this i notice a few of your members mention pretty decent mpg
in there posts but my 07 auto navara has never managed more than 20mpg
in the time ive had it from new regardless of how hard or soft i drive it, i may
consider chipping it and would be intrested from any members who have done this
and can give me real figures on any mpg improvement rather than manufacturers
claims.
many thanks Roofer.

Hi and welcome mate, I can never get over 23MPG, and this is only cos of lots of motorway cruising miles.
I have NO idea how anyone gets more than this other then stay off the loud pedal  :thumbleft:

on a recent trip to the south of France mine was reporting 33.6mpg

Mine is a manual though. But I do have a DTE fitted which seems to eek out a few extra miles per tank :thumbleft:

sounds about right for auto if you drive hard or alot of town driving. My manual doin the same runs around 26 on a motorway journey i can get low 30's but only on a run keeping the right side of the speed limit

Thanks for the replies lads, i was hoping for better news so i suppose
it aint going to get any better than 20mpgish, looks like i might
have to whack the nav badges on the missus micra for better mpg
and make believe im in the nav!
cheers roofer.

Hi - I've just fitted my 09 model with a gizmo from Chip Express. Not cheap, but make an offer on eBay and you could get a pleasant surprise. Anyway, very easy to fit and getting an average of 29mpg. Quite happy with that.

I have a d40 auto with 60,000 on the clock and always average 20 mpg. I recently fitted a mod chip to improve mpg but it only made about +1 mpg difference. So I thought sod it and fitted a k&n apollo induction and adjusted the chip up to max power ! I now get 21 mpg and have extra power and a nice sound ! - Strange !!!

i have a 07 auto and that averages around the 22/23 mpg around town and about 27mpg on a good motorway run..

the first thing i did when i bought the truck was to give it a complete service even though it had been serviced by nissan 2000 miles before.

my truck is standard with no chips or re-maps.

How do you find the CRF450 09, I have ran the 08 un til its right to buy the new one, how have you found it?

mines a 06 auto, getting 20-22 mpg however i drive it, no mods at all.

The 3.0 Hilux isnt much better, averaging 27mpg from the auto.

Sorry havnt been on here a while!!

Found it in someways to be the best bike (450) ive owned. Its a new breed 450 - ignore how the last generation handled this is different. Much sharper front end turn in. Power is smooth but seems to not do much above 3/4 revs upwards. Its not quite so hard hitting - maybe the efi?? and it can be a stink to start. It actually starts easier if you dont kick hard like the older carb'd versions.

What level do you ride? I race 20 min moto's so find brakes can be an issue and suspension can take a while to dial in. When its right its great but change track conditions and it can feel quite out of place

Lastly the harder you ride it the more flowing it feels if that makes sense. The 07 I had was very much point and squirt wheres this one is more slick and doesnt 'stand up' etc coming into corners quick.

Hope that helps!!

Just a quick update on mpg I think putting some miles on the nav's help. Im upto nearly 9000 now and just did a full tank range check. I put 71.01lt's in @ 113.9p and got 425.2 miles before I filled it up again. Worked out to be 27.22mpg so Im up a good few mpg

Im a county side driver with a bit of town work and get bang on 25MPG. Have driven a 400 mile round trip very hard and got 28MPG as it was motorway for 300 of those mile.

Sorry but I fail to see how any one could get above mid 30's as I did try on a tank full and it just would not go above 30 despite changing gear at 2000RPM and up into 6th as soon as possible, minimal braking was also used.

So now I just drive and enjoy, but 20 MPG would be just to low for me!

Hi, I'm new on here. I'm having similar problems with my 09 plate king cab-I cannot get above 23mpg no matter what I do! Spoke to my dealer about it and he told me it was something to do with the cold weather we've been having recently. I'm a bit dubious to be honest!!

on average i get about 21-23 mpg according to the trip computer for everyday driving to work and back, round poole. I reset the computer just before a trip to london and back and managed to get 28mpg out of it, despite getting lost in london. Its an 07 plate with 13k on the clock, auto with a DTE system.
