Hi All, This is my first post as we wait for delivery of our new NP300. Please don't shoot me down for our family car selection. We sold the Q5 and opted for a vehicle in which we don't have to worry if we leave the dogs (Collies) in the back (Hardtop ordered). Any runs for timber for the wood stove and garden supplies as well as any shopping. We had a run of various Landrovers but in the end I had to sell the Defender as the wife locked it up and near soiled the front seats. Which brings me to my first question, other than any tips as a new Navarra owner. Has anyone seen or currently use the DC Wolf Pack drawer kit?

https://www.frontrunneroutfitters.c...be/storage-systems/drawers/nissan-navara-wolf-pack-drawer-kit-front-runner.html

Its a little pricey but it looks like I could fit this and still have food shopping, tools or anything else in the draws and still carry anything else above them including the dogs. Once the kids are in the back there isn't much room for anything else sense the secure easy access storage space.

Hope to hear any comments or advice other than getting rid of the wife. She'd still find me!:slaphead

Hi Oran, and Welcome to NNNet!

I'm sure you won't be disappointed with your NP300 when it arrives! I use mine as a daily family ride, and it does the job brilliantly. I don't have dogs, but there is plenty of room for them in the back once you've got a hardtop on.
Which hardtop have you gone for? A Nissan one or aftermarket?

I can't comment on those particular drawers, but I have these in my NP300, and they're great. I bought the rubber topped ones for ÂŁ1049, but the carpet topped ones are down to ÂŁ899.... wish they had been when I bought! They also have a sliding tray top, which is useful for loading/unloading bulky items!

Anyway, I'm sure you'll find plenty of advice and info in the main forums and when you're Nav arrives, we'd love to see photos!

Smelly Dogs.

Dear Lookskyward1 & Jem,

Many thanks for your warm welcome. Nice to get a quick response. I've used a couple of LR sites in the past, little weird, but more often quiet. Always found these forums are great communities as long as theres mutual respect. Fun to see the odd gasket blow out.

Regarding the delivery, I contacted the dealership today and they can't give me a date yet:nail biting

The Aeroklas was offered but looked on your forum and other areas to get an idea what was best. The rear demister and a single key fob locking swung it for the Trackman GLS. I'm hoping the side sliding windows are not easily opened once unlocked as I don't want the dogs or opportunists to slide open.

Jem, your sliding draws (not your trunks), are they fitted with sides to give a complete floor span as pictured in the https://www.frontrunneroutfitters.co...nt-runner.html

The rubber top flooring does appeal so does the reduced price from direct4X4. My only concern is the dogs falling down the side if not completely across. Any pix would be most appreciated.

I'll keep you post on the delivery.

Hello Oran

Welcome to Nissan-Navara.net.

I note you have Collies. We love dogs here too!

As a family, we bought a Collie pup ourselves, called Denby. He's just turned a one year old and we currently looking for a four-legged companion for him.

At the time of buying my Nav, I had to buy my wife an estate car to allow for the pooch...turns out pets are more expensive than children...

Personally, I find my Nav far more appropriate for carting him around, especially after long, wet walks in the forest.

So, as well as photographs of your truck, be sure to introduce the hounds too!

Cheers

Hi Jem,

Sorry, I've reviewed the fitting instructions and it all seems straight forward. Jigsaw and MDF. I'm assuming they give you enough material to cover the sides and the rear panel (brackets included, pity they aren't hinged).

I know you mentioned the carpeted one at a reduced price but is the rubber covering not a better options with mucky pups, carpet a bit harder to keep clean?

The sliding top is a nice feature. Particularly with the grip handles This is not an option from Frontrunner.

If you have some further advice and/or pictures I might take your advice and go with the discounted option.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Sorry mate, I've only just seen this post.
Yes - the rubber is probably the better option for the dogs as far as keeping it clean goes. I just think the carpeted ones are such a bargain. I would have had carpet if they were reduced when I bought mine. BUt I don't have dogs.
