So what do they mean by that? if it's not 12 months old yet, surely that makes it even more appalling?

Just a thought btw mate, is the bed of your truck actually tightened down properly?, i'm thinking if it's loose maybe it's been hitting the cab when you brake, any marks on the back of the cab?

My first D40 had a loose bed, i jumped underneath and tightened it up myself, not seen one split like that though

Are they saying that you caused it, they'd never get away with it otherwise. it's very peculiar, I was trying to compare it with mine(too dark now), it,s not easy to see how it failed. When you look inside does it seem to be parting at welds. It looks like a stress fracture caused by flexing or something. I've never seen anything like that on any pickups I've owned.

It's the top of the bed mate just behind the cab, looks like a shiny speed liner too?[/quote:svnhvdeg]

Still cant work it out but never mind :?[/quote:svnhvdeg]
I split the pics up, bit easier to see now :thumbleft:

I have a top on it, it was a small crack about 8 weeks after having it and took it in and waited and waited and 7 months latter you have this.
there are no rubs on the back of the cab and the top was tight down

Just curious, nothing to do with your problem, the top looks rubbery do you have a spray on liner? As to your problem what are they saying about it, they can't just ignore it surely. Did you fit the top yourself? Have you tried Nissan UK?

what is the white in the cracks?
It looks like aluminium splits?
As stated before, its a stress crack, so something is not shaped right - for it to split there the bed must not be flat?, and its under tension when it was bolted down.
If the dealer wont behave - go to a different dealer - if mine did that i would park it across their front gate till they agreed to fix it!

Somthing is deffo not right there! something is out of alinement and its must be flexing to much to cause stress fractures like that!!!

Hi Momerman,

Sorry to see your pics and hear your news..........I'am just going by your forum name and i wonder if you have put heavy machinery in the back......maybe in the middle of something that may have caused it to stress........please note i am not having a go at you here....but i bet that is what mr Nissan is thinking.

I really think this is awful and for them just to disregard it without looking further into it....well i don't know what to say.....but i wish you luck........and hope it gets sorted........
