Hi, I need to replace the outer track rod end on my D40 tonight. Does anyone know what size spanner is required to back off the locking nut? (I was going to borrow one from work and bring it home tonight but not sure what size I need).

Are these nuts the kind to undo easily? Or like my old Shogun .. fused to the tie rod for life!? Thought I'd bring a pair of stilsons home too just in case. :surprise:

Sorted. A 24mm spanner on it did the trick. It came undone quite easily which is more than I can say for the wheel bearing nut which was flexing my large breaker bar. I had to stick a scaffold pipe on that and get the Mrs to lever it while I kept the bar at 90 deg to the nut and held that on to avoid the risk of rounding it. Fun and games!
