This Friday, we are going to go and pick up a brand new Nissan Navara Tekna Manual with delivery mileage...

Does anybody know whether it has to be run in, or any precautions that should be taken during the first few miles ?

Any problems/inspections we should do when we purchase the nav?
It will have the following options fitted by Nissan, if that makes any difference:
- Armadillo Roll Top
- Reversing Sensors
- Alarm Upgrade
- Microwave Sensor - Alarm System in Load Area
- Load Liner

Just wanted to check as we are travelling 4 hours up north to get the thing !

Many thanks for any of your help, :clappy:

Just so you're prepared:

This is from my owners manual (57 plate)

During the first 1,000 miles (1,600 km),
follow these recommendations to obtain
maximum engine performance and ensure
the future reliability and economy of
your new vehicle. Failure to follow these
recommendations may result in shortened
engine life and reduced engine
performance.
* Avoid driving for long periods at constant
speed, either fast or slow
* Do not run the engine over 4,000 rpm.
* Do not accelerate at full throttle in any gear.
* Avoid quick starts.
* Avoid hard braking as much as possible.
* Do not tow a trailer for the first 800 km
(500 miles).
* When towing a trailer for the first time (after the above running in schedule),
make sure that you do not drive over 80 km/h (50 MPH) for the following 800 km (500 miles)
and do not accelerate at full throttle.

If you where to see your new Nav being loaded onto the ship, and transporter I think you would soon realise that it is totally pointless being carefull with it - its already been thrashed from the minute it left the factory.
