Something is emptying the battery of the Navara

I'm experiencing battery problems with the Navara. Something consumes the power so badly that onernight the car just wont start again.
I checked that everything is off but still something consumes power. When I put in a new battery the terminals spark as if I left lights on but nothing is on. Overnight the battery just don't start the car anymore!

Please advice.

Do you have a multi meter for Reading voltage and stuff? If so remove one of the terminals from the battery and put the meter in line Reading amps. So, terminal post on battery to one lead of meter, other lead of meter to wire you removed from battery. This will show you if there is a draw on the battery.
The obvious thing is an alarm fault, other things always running are clock and radio memory.

as mowerman says, pull each fuse out, if the reading remains the same, refit it until the reading drops, then you can identify which circuit is causing this 'draw' on the battery. After that, search this circuit out for a possible 'short'.

Check as above first, could also be either a faulty battery not holding a charge (check by disconnecting it then testing voltage in the morning) or faulty alternator not charging the battery properly (check when engine running, battery terminals will show approx. 14v, as opposed to approx 11.5 when engine not running)

Thanks a million guys!

Now the problem took a new toll. The car now starts. The starter sounds very slow and then speeds up. The engine starts running and the instrumens only start working after a minute. The clock is reset to 12:00am after every start. I have now also noticed that the service display shows that service is 37984km overdue. I do service the car at a Nissan Dealer but it seams they are no reserting the computer.

Maybe I must just send it in at the dealer.

The reason why the instruments are coming on after a minute mate is because the engine is putting charge back into the battery so your alternator is not the problem. Something is pulling your battery down which explains why the starter motor is sluggish and then gains speed when it starts the engine to turn. The clock always resets itself when it loses power and i think the service clock does too. I reckon the lads have pointed you in the right direction by checking the fuses :thumbleft:
