Hi there
i've just purchased a 58 plate Navara Outlaw.
Been down to Plymouth with a VW Caddy on tow - no probs at all very good journey - bit more responsive on homeward journey mind !!
Have been on the darkside for the past 9 year's with a Mitsubishi L200 - that was a class act to follow !!!!

now for the 'not so good news'

I took my truck into Nissan Middlesbrough for a chassis check & then last week for it's chassis painting not at all happy with the result !
They had , by the look of it , just walked round the rear of the truck and sprayed it down over and not removed any rust or even the spare wheel !!!!!
So not much paint was sprayed under the rear chassis legs at all or the most important part's where the rear chassis meet's the front chassis.
They did not even replace the fuel filler pipe ,which only became apparent on the filling station forecourt on the way home!!!
At the desk they tried to fob me off with 'we only paint the outside of the rear chassis as a good will gesture' we are in discussion's with the paint shop manager !!!
Does anyone have any detail's of what i should expect or am i just over optimistic !!!!

Hi and :welcome to NNNet

To be honest, that's all it is, a good will gesture from Nissan. What is to be expected varies from story to story, experience to experience, and dealer to dealer.

Your best bet is to get it done properly by an independent.

You need to get it cleaned up and coated properly.

Anyway, in the meantime, got pics of your truck? Other than the chassis treatment, got any other plans for it?

Welcome.

Nissan UK are paying the bodyshop to do a much more thorough job including rear tub removal.

The local dealer are ripping off Nissan UK.

Suggest you ring Nissan Customer Services and ask them which dealer can carry out the job as specified.

Hello and welcome
After i had my truck undersealed it had its mot 3 weeks later and the mot guy asked about who did the underseal
When i told him he replayed
"We do underseal and if one of my guys left a job like that id sack him on the spot"
Guess that says just about everything you need to know about the nissan good will gesture
I plan on taking It back to him and paying for it to be done properly

Phone Nissan customer services and pass the problem to them.
