Hi guys,
Whilst trying to diagnose my poorly running Nav I did the timing chain test by unplugging my Cam Position Sensor and starting the car to see if it till stalled, which it did so no timing chain issues....yet.
I plugged the Cam sensor back in and tried starting the engine. It would start for age and then coughed into life and wasn't very happy and the EML was on.
Did the pedal trick to get the fault code, 0340 cam sensor fault. I rationalised that the cam was in a different position to what the ECU expected due to me unplugging it.
I pressed the accelerator for another 10 seconds and turn the key off.
Tried to start the car again. EML light gone, starts first time and run ok.
The problem is even though the EML light is off I've had to do the pedal reset a couple more times after changing various bits and the fault code is still there, do I have to take it to a garage to get rid of the fault code? I thought the extra 10 second press of the pedal cleared all codes?
Cheers guys
