The Nav. went yesterday teatime so on the phone to cancel insurance. After pressing virtually every button on my phone going through various options i got through to cancel my policy. Usual questions, Policy cancelled then told i owe them £33.41 ??? When i asked how they worked that one out i was told there's a £50.00 cancellation fee!!
FIFTY ******* POUNDS CANCELLATION FEE, THE ROBBING ********. Will obviously never use Admiral again, Something to be aware of if you're thinking of insuring through Admiral.

Insurance is a proper scam you have to keep your wits about you and shop around.
When I first got my D22, I tried to change my car insurance from a Lexus to the Navara, told not possible as the truck was regarded as a commercial vehicle, also I was using it for a small Limited business.
So I cancelled the Lexus policy, went to a local broker and took out a commercial policy for the Nav with Red Star insurance, for about 230.
Year went by, another year wiser, no claims or changes, renewal came in at 2,500+!
Phoned the broker, to find out this was not a mistake, told him it was nothing personal, and to stuff it.
Went online to find the Post Office was the cheapest, 245 with 50 cash back after 3 months, so I took a policy out with them.
The paperwork came through and I was astounded to see that the underwriter was Red Star!
I got back onto my original broker told what had happened and asked what the he11 was Red Star playing at?
He told me this was not unusual with commercial vehicle policies, they scoop you in the first year with a cheap policy, then when the renewal comes around they massively overcharge in the hope that the company secretary opens the letter and just thinks the van insurance is due, and blindly writes out a cheque.

Hi have to say my experience with Admiral is very good
My Daughter was a named driver on our car when someone pulled straight in front of her and the car was a write off
Admiral agreed a price for the car which we was happy with within 24hrs off the accident and we had the money 2 days later
I couldn’t have ask for any better than that

They all tend to cough up when they know its an open and shut case and they reclaim from the other parties insurer. I have a very interesting one going on at the moment . A guy with a caravan pulled across me and ripped off the front end of one of the trucks . luckily we had it back in five days with a new front end! The other guys insurers AVIVA paid for our damage however the caravans insurers are persisting in trying to reclaim the damage from us LOL not sure how that one works !! They have been told by me and insurers to go forth and multiply.

Had my wifes car insured through Tesco & when she bought another one got a better quote online so rang to cancel. Soon as she spoke to advisor she was told there was a £25 cancellation fee & her policy only had 2 months to run, Took the hint & just let it run out.
Admiral on the other hand went through the cancellation process, Was then told that was all done for me & just needed to pay £33.41!!! £50 to press a key on a keyboard:censored:
Apparently I'm getting a confirmation letter off them, Surprised they're not charging around £200 for that.
