Just a quick question fitted Heko wind deflectors to my np300 and I get a wind whistle now, just wondering if others get the same or I have done something wrong?

Are they the ones with the cut out shape on the leading edge for smokers? If so then they may indeed whistle, had them on our Vauxhall Corsa. Didn't happen all the time, just certain speeds or in cross winds.

PS. Did you leave them for 24 hours with the window firmly closed so the adhesive could set and the clips could seat properly? I remember when doing mine that the instructions warned about doing that.

I need to get some for my new NP300 but will opt for stick on I think, had stick on deflectors on my B2500 and they lasted OK. I prefer the looks of the Team Heko ones but just concerned they'll cause my windows to be even slower to close than they already are!

Yes I did leave them for that long.

Yes they have that little wave roughly in line with the mirror, is that what you mean by smoker bit?

Yes I just don’t like th look of stick on ones, these look a lot neater.

Yep, the little cut out shape (top corner) mine had were perfect for smokers, means you can get away with only opening window a little bit because the cut out is where you can flick your ash away. They are great looking deflectors and sitting in the window channel means they are less in your face than the stick on ones.

You may be referring to the cut out to clear visibility of mirrors though.

Is the whistling happening all the time? Just at certain speeds? Mine used to whistle at about 80mph.

Probably start to notice about 30mph ??

Um, definitely never had that (at low speed) on any of my defectors. Is the whistle from the window channel? Could it be that the clips are not seated or the glue has not set? I did mine in summer so weather was warm. Bit too cold outdoors for adhesive at the moment?

Yes almost seems like the wind is getting in. These didn’t have adhesive all the way only front and back and about a 2” in the middle. I did push the clips right up.

If it doesn't reduce after a week or so (giving it a chance to bed in) then I guess you may have to take them out, fit some new adhesive strip and fit again. I'd be tempted to leave that till warmer weather so the adhesive works better.

LOL, @landmannnn they also allow you to drive with the window wound down a couple of inches for fresh air whilst driving at motorway speeds and not get any buffeting, wind noise or rain spraying in. The heavily tinted ones also cut down on glare from sun coming through side window. Had them on all my cars for years and am really missing not having them on the Navara at the moment. Will get some fitted in spring.

And unless you are a smoker and want to flick ash out of the window, what purpose do they have? Surely if you take them off, the whistling will stop?
Yes i know what you mean and I have never had them in anything else.

I think they look quite good ??

Also they help stop when you wash the windows it all blowing over the side of the drivers window.

Nope. Not unless they say take your time as I was rushing as it was dark and SWMBO was nagging.

I have had to replace the sticky tape recently on the back ones but no other problems

Okay how did you push the plastic clips up into the window channel?

Ah that's interesting. My clips are metal and I used a flat head screwdriver
