Wont rev above 2500

Hi I have an outlaw on a 56 plate and it has recently stopped me revving above 2500 did an ecu reset the first time seemed to sort it.It has now happened again did a reset and it made no difference.Then it just seems to cure itself when it is running ok im sure i can detect a random missfire.Does anyone know if its gone into self preservation mode and why i have no lights come up on dash.Many thanks

Not going above 2500 is limp mode, ifthe ecu reset didn't cure it you mY need to get the fault codes read

I have tried to read the code from the EML i had 10 slow flashes followed by 10 fast 9 fast and 3 i worked it out to be 1093 but i cant find a listing for this number have i read it wrong ?

Hi,
Probably you got DTC P0093, meaning fuel system leak. This DTC can cause LIMP HOME mode without fault light illumination.
It can be a clogged fuel filter or faulty pressure control valve located on the pump.

10 flashes equals 0 so if all flashes are 10's then there is no codes present.
For example
10 slow flashes = 0
10 quick flashes = 0
10 quick flashes = 0
10 quick flashes = 0
The code is 0000 or nothing.

But if it was for example
10 slow flashes = 0
1 quick flashes = 1
9 quick flashes = 9
3 quick flashes = 3
The code is 0193 which is Fuel rail pressure sensor

Or in this case 10fast (0), 10 slow (0), 9 , 3, or P0093

Ok thanks im gonna change the fuel filter and see what happens then i will look at sensors cheers.

have you changed the filter yet mate - mine was bad till i had the pressure control valve changed on the pump - now she's ok

Hi all
I changed the fuel filter to see if that was it .Found a date on it said it had not been changed fo a couple of years.So far so good no problems lets hope it stays that way .Thanks to everyone for their advice
