Hi all,

I have just been quoted £830 for a 3 year extended warranty, as i'm new to the navara world i'm unsure wether to take it out or not, has there been enough problems with the D40 to justify me paying the cash out?

What do you all think?

new clutch £1000+
half shafts £1000+
injectors £200 + each
alternator £700+

so if your still going to use the dealer then its worth while
but all these things can be done cheeper else where
 
but is a clutch and injectors covered ?

A extra 3 year warranty is worth about £500 max in my book
 
If its a proper Nissan warrenty then i would have thought so Brian....think he needs to ask whats covered!
 
There's no sure answer to these type of questions, it's a bit like buying a lottery ticket.

You might buy the warranty, and the truck could well give you complete reliability throughout that period, you would then feel you'd wasted your money.

On the other hand..........
 
I had the warranty + the extra to take it to 100,000 and yes the clutch and flywheel went bang on 87000 ish
Nissan paid for everything apart from clutch parts, bargain :thumbleft: Dealer was looking at 1500 + vat to do the work

Just over 64000 they had to sort the 4x4 switches and this was also covered

dont bother. ive got a pathfinder 55 plate that i took out 'nissan extended warranty' when the manu ran out. a 2 year policy with a 60k limit. cost near 800 quid. truck now at nissan with a clacky injector, non returning clutch pedal that feels **** compared to my 07 nav, and a clonky worn out steering rack( diagnosed dangerous by nissan tech). warranty guy rocks up and declares that engine sounds fine to him and anyhow injectors aint covered. clutch is wear and tear so aint covered and as steering rack isnt leaking its not covered! im a mechanic myself and i wish now i just didnt bother. im fuming :oops:
