Oil Leak - Nissan misdiagnosis ?

Brought the pathfinder to a main dealer to diagnose an oil leak (oil is dripping down around the clutch slave cylinder area - see below ). They diagnosed the leak as the rocker cover gasket (estimate was 2 hours labour + part).
When I got home I had a look at the rocker cover - seems bone dry all around !

Any ideas on possible leaks in this area ?

Could be a loose filter mate?

Filter and surrounding area is dry -

Nissan mentioned that there is a "plate" behind the cylinder head or block???? which sometimes leaks - anybody know about such a plate?

... beginning to think Nissan are taking me for a ride ...

I'm sure there will be someone along shortly that might know , but you are not sure or happy about what Nissan have told you , take the truck for a 2nd or 3rd opinion .

There are other mechanics and garages out there apart from Nissan mate . :wink:

Just my 2 pence worth .

There is a plate on the rear end of the cylinder head but it is very unseal for an oil leak to develop from there.

You need to thoroughly clean this area and check with a mirror for leak route after few miles driving.
