So I went in to Nissan to have the code found for my D40 radio. I was kindly informed my truck has been recalled for the chassis issues an was informed it was purely preventative measures an nothing to worry about. Anyway after explaining I know plenty more about the issues an have gone to the extent of having laser cut reinforcement pieces welded on they explained a bit more.
If it passes inspection then goes off for chassis repainting etc.
If it fails then 2 options.
1 they will re-chassis it, which I doubt as it is now 10 years old. (80,000 miles)
2 they will buy it back but cant tell me for how much as its a 'Head Office' decision.
I must add they are inspecting the whole chassis an not just the snapping section in the middle. Mine has a small hole in the cross member that holds up the spare wheel, so i plan on having that patched before it goes in for inspection.
I really like my truck an don't wont the hassle of losing it an having to find a replacement. Its in great condition an don't want to be left out of pocket if the buyback was forced upon me.
So has anyone had the buyback done? Did you get a good value for your vehicle?
