Hi guys, just changing the illumination bulb on my 06 auto gear shifter. Got the bulb out in no time, simple job, sourcing a bulb is prooving a bit more difficult. Anyone done bought one before ?

Anyone know what would cause the gear selector light and the cup holder light to go out?
The blubs appear fine! so i thought fuse but nothing else has stopped working and i find it hard to believe just these 2 bulbs would be fused on there own.

I agree. Not likely those few lamps would be fused alone, but they could be fused alongside things you may not have noticed?!
I don't have a workshop manual, but a quick look in there at the loom should get you checking the right spots. Wire chaff, dodgy connector, probably something silly.

Just by eye (filiment looks complete) but both of them went at the same time (or at least i noticed them at the same time)
When i get some time ill put a multimeter across the bulbs and check for voltage

I promise I'm not being silly here, get them both on a multi meter or 12v supply and check them.
It would not be the first time have I have seen lamps fail and yet the filament looks ok. As I am sure you have too.

If they’re wired in the same circuit and they’re both old, the failure of one may have led to a small voltage increase that killed the other?
