Hello guys my name is TJ im from the bedfordshire area . I’m a first time Nissan navara owner . I only brought this vehicle last week to use to lug stuff around And home renovations and to be litteraly honest I LOVE the damn thing LOL!! It’s not in the greatest condition bodywork wise but it’s booked for a full respray in September by a friend in the trade at a decent price . I came from owning the new class to one of these and to be honest this drives better and just feels great !

Ihad a chip in the screen so working in the windscreen trade I’ll be fixing that straight away lol. Got a few mods lined up as well as I’m really getting into it . I wasnt even thinking about doing anything to it . Window tints all round will be on in a week and the duplex timing belt upgrade to be done for peace of mind .Ill probably be asking lots of questions . Here’s a few random picture of the beast . Haven’t properly taken any pics yet but I’ll get some smart ones soon when it’s loooking tidier . Started to Wipe down the engine bay too. Ps my doggos love the truck

Hello, TJ, welcome.

I must say, I just love the fact that you bought the truck to simply work with no regard for it, and now having driven and experienced King Nav, you've been sucked right in, lol!!! Good stuff.

yes I’m shocked myself I was only looking at an Audi estate or c class estate and then thought maybe a pick up will do and saw this with FSH 2 owners , chassis checked overand under sealed so thought I’ll give it a go and nowMy eBay watch list for mods is huge lol can’t wait to “treat” myself to the mods lol

I wouldn't pay much attention to the horror stories.

It only affects the pre 2010 models, and even if you had an 05 to 09 the chain would have failed by now.

If you really want to upgrade the timing chain your best bet is a trip to Billcar in Shrewsbury. I don't think you will get much change from £1500 though.

Thanks for the heads up . Yes I’ve just been reading up about them and now I’m worried lol thanks for the help so far I’m enjoying this forum already . Handy tips and everyone seems nice haha . I’ll leave the timing chain for now . Just a. Question though I’m due a service . Do you recommend doing all filters plus diff oil ? It’s at 107k does this need a gearbox service ? Thanks I’ll probably keep asking you questions Lol

Engine oil, fuel, oil and air filters are standard service items. Every other service you should change the brake fluid and cabin filters.

Technically the oil in the diffs and gearboxes is inspect only.
It would be a good idea to change the rear diff oil as you can get water in it if wading. I wouldn't do more than top up the gearboxes.

Good plan. Before somebody jumps in, there are quite a few other things on the service schedule such as checking all fluid levels, brakes, tyres and lubricating door and bonnet hinges and latches.
Yes mate will get the basics done it was the extras bits that are new to me like gearbox oil etc . Thanks again
