Hey Guys, I have heard and seen that people are putting Nissan Patrol shocks in the rear of their D40's and I am just wanting to know if anyone has done so and want to know what needs to be changed to make it work.

Thanks!

Just to be clear, a shock absorber or damper is there to dampen the spring, preventing the spring from bouncing up and down.
A different damper cannot increase the articulation of the spring or its flexibility.

If you have for example extended your shackles then it is a great idea to fit longer dampers. Patrol ones will fit, although you will need to reuse the rubber on one end as the pins are different, you may need a spacer too.
Alternatively you can buy extended dampers for the D40.

Yeah im currently running 2 inch extended shackles so thought that a longer travel shock absorber should give me some more droop. I actually attempted fitting the shocks this afternoon but found that the reused Navara bushes were way too loose in the patrol shocks and there was a significant amount of movement in the bush.
