Easiest way to replace the clutch is to pay someone to do it, I know hahaha . money is tight as health hasn't been best of late, so probably going with a Blue Metal clutch kit with a new solid flywheel (E-Bay Aussie $690) my Question is -------- Engine out to do job ------- or--- Box off and do job from underneath.
Which is the bigger and/or harder way to go? Doing the head gasket ATM in car, bolts arrived this morning. so i have been busy busy but i know clutch is on last legs and i am planning the job now. any advise would be appreciated thanks.

just recovering from heart attack and triple bypass op so getting up and down is still a small prob. good as gold on my feet or sitting. If i can get the ute high enough for me on a roller board where i can sit on it and lay back then scoot in under the ute. Thinking Thinking will another pair of stands and higher jacks

The best way to drop the transmission is to fabricate a cradle that sits under the gearbox and means you can use a single trolley Jack.

It might seem over the top for a single job, but if you have a welder it wouldn't take long to knock one up.

Box off for sure, not a chance i'd be tackling it after a heart attack and triple bypass, especially without a lift and a proper gearbox jack. for the sake of a couple hudred ÂŁÂŁÂŁ. I changed the clutch on a old chevy pickup years ago on the ground and swore i'd never do it again without the proper tools, it was a fight to the end, and thats when i was in my 20's, can't imagine doing it with those health issues
