2009 D40 YD25, just installed a set of gauges in the nav and was wondering what everyone’s oil pressure roughly sits at on idle and when driving at different rev ranges.
Idle at 800rpm I’m getting 17psi oil pressure and varies from 17 to 15. Is this normal or is it a sign of something failing, etc? Cheers!

A thinner oil will decrease oil pressure not increase it. Found this thread regarding oil pressure in which some values are stated but dont know if its the same engine as in the D40. No ideea if you can read the oil pressure threw OBD 2 port with a scanner

Hm alright, what could be causing the low oil pressure? I’ve already replaced the timing chain components with the duplex kit from YD25.com.au, was already thinking switching the oil pump to the YD25.com.au upgraded pump also which might increase oil pressure aswell? Or what’s some other ways to tell what’s causing the lower pressure?

Low oil pressure can be caused by obstructed oil filter, low oil level, oil pump, worn engine bearings, oil pressure relief valve. Start easy check oil, change oil filter, oil pressure relief valve is something like over 200$ or go directly and change the oil pump.
Also found this thread with same problem

Have changed timing chain which required taking oil pump off so wonder if I’ve damaged the oil pressure nozzle as that other bloke had, also I have no oil pressure warnings showing on my dash so dunno if my gauge is actually accurate or not, it’s the oil pressure gauge from savage performance, gauge shows 6psi when car is turned off at all times. Actually interested in possibly getting another oil pressure gauge temporarily that’s known to be accurate and check the pressure. It’s very temperamental and fluctuates every time I drive it, after driving nearly 300k’s on the weekend it was showing that I had 39psi at 2200rpm.
