Hey guys looking for a little more info on the faults P0089/P0088.
The car runs and starts fine but if sat idling for a short length of time it loses power and won't rev above 2000rpm and the car will barely move. It first threw the code P0089 so after a little research I replaced the scv valve and also the fuel sensor, now car is doing exactly the same as before but more often and is now giving me the P0088 code and saying high fuel pressure, could this possibly be the fuel pressure relief valve that has failed? Thanks

Did you reset the fuel pump using the pedal method after replacing the SCV?

If not the problem doesn't go away.

If the reset doesn't work, you probably pinched the o ring when assembling it. I know I did!

Hey mate yes I did the pedal reset and still no different. I put the O ring in first and gently pushed the scv home before putting screws back in so pretty sure I haven't pinched the seal.

Yes mate I did the pedal reset and left it idling as I put the bonnet back down, but as soon as I went to move the car was as though as it was in limp mode, I turned it off and back on again and it was OK until stopping at the next Junction for a brief few seconds and then back into limp mode. I placed the O ring in the hole and gently pushed the scv in place before putting the screws back in so I'm pretty sure I have pinched the seal. I checked all fuel lines and priming balloon on the filter and their are no leaks splits or kinks. I also released the valve on the bottom of the fuel filter (which is new) just to double check no water in the system.Next step is to replace the fuel pressure release valve and if that doesn't work then im all out of ideas.

Thanks for the pedal tip mate, am I right in thinking that because the fuel pressure is high it can only be from either a kinked hose or faulty relief valve, none of the hoses are kinked or damaged so I can rule that out so has to be the relief valve wouldn't it?

All good mate, ive been on the phone a lot today trying to source the relief valve but alls I kept getting was (sorry don't stock it go through Nissan) which I did try through 2 dealers and they will only sell the valve along with the fuel rail at $1100 so I've ordered the valve online and gotta wait until late next week for it to arrive at $105. Thanks for your time and replies though Landmannnn I really appreciate it. I'll keep you posted if it solves the problem.
