Hey folks,

Need major help and quick :)

Im a mechanic and a family friend is up my way 200+ miles from home and there navvi broke down, i had it towed to my garage where i work to get it sorted but im at a stand still.

its not mechanical or electrial, runs on easy start, fuel to filter injects etc

diagnostic codes

E1 AND E5 NATS MALFUNCTION - i know that stands for nissan anti theft system but first time i have delt with this problem

any suggestions to avoid taking to a dealer ship as they should have been home sunday morning

Could a auto lock smith re program a new key in or so anything to re-map the key etc?

any help would be gold as i have to get it sorted ASAP

thx

Then diag codes dont relate to anything for the navara fault code list.

Try this ECU and fuel pump reset http://www.nissan-navara.net/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5786

ECU firmwear reset http://www.nissan-navara.net/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=10647

below is the process to recalibrate keys to nats system

l When servicing NATS (trouble diagnoses, system initialization and additional registration of other NATS
ignition key IDs), it may be necessary to re-register original key identification. Therefore, be sure to
receive all keys from vehicle owner. A maximum of four or five key IDs can be registered into NATS.
l When failing to start the engine first time using the key of NATS, start as follows.
1. Leave the ignition key in "ON" position for approximately 5 seconds.
2. Turn ignition key to "OFF" or "LOCK" position and wait approximately 5 seconds.
3. Repeat step 1 and 2 again.
4. Restart the engine while keeping the key separate from any others on key-chain.

hey andy,

no luck with the information supplied, tryed serveral times my self and other mechanics but the engine managment light didnt not flash, rang nissan dealership but cannot look until monday but they need back asap, so i have had them get a family member to post the other keyfob to the garage as everyone i have spoke to said the best option is to try the spare key before even concider taking to a dealer ship.

so will keep you updated with what happens tomorrow afternoon when key arrives

im praying to god it works because im going out my mind... i love doing favors for people but this time i wish i never got involved:p

Hey Guys

I'm really interested to here how this problem turned out.

I'm currently in the same situation but only worse. I live in Australia and I have a Spanish build 2005 Nissan Navara originally purchased in the UK.

Problem CIC have is Nissan Australia cant access the ECU as it is not compatible to the Australian versions.

My problem started when I tried to install an after market stereo. Once the connection to the old stereo was disconnected the NAT light stayed on the dash while the car was on. All worked fine besides this. I read on here to disconnect the battery which may reset the computer. But when I did that I cant even start the car with the key. I get the acc reds on but wont kick over.

I did this in the Nissan dealer ship incase something like this may of happened. And turns out Nissan are no hope to me here.

Can one of you guys shed some light. Looks like shes a dead duck at the moment.

If this process below didn't work then you have a fault in either the security module or the transponder ring.

Insert the ignition key into the ignition and turn ‘On’ for 5 seconds Turn ignition key ‘OFF’ Turn ignition key ‘ON’ for 5 seconds Turn ignition key ‘OFF’ Turn ignition key ‘ON’ for 5 seconds
