Hi everyone,
I have a Nissan Navara np300 2016, I bought the pickup about 3 years ago but then the engine was consuming too much oil.
I went to the dealer and advised me to replace the engine, so I went to the best diesel car workshop in Amman/Jordan, where they installed a used but clean engine in my pickup.
2 days after my pickup got out of the shop, a weird continuous sound my engine was making (hammering sound), so I went back to workshop and they identify the sound to be coming from the fuel injectors, there was one injector making that hammering sound, so they replaced the injector and I went back home, after driving about 30 miles, the sound came back, so again I went back to the workshop and they told me this happened because there was some water in my fuel tank and they have to clean it, so I left the pickup in their workshop and went back home in a taxi.
The next day I came back to the workshop to take my pickup, and the same story happened again, on the way home and after 30 miles driving, the same hammering sound was coming from the engine.
So again, I went back to the workshop and this time they said its a computer programming issue and the new injectors in my pickup needs to be programmed on the new engine installed.
So this time its all about computer issue they said, and after hours and hours, I went back home driving my pickup after they have completed programming the injectors and the engine all together.
Next morning going to work I started the engine and the check engine light was on! But nothing weird or any sound was coming from the engine, so I went to work driving the pickup and everything was going fine except of course the check engine light.
So I went back to the workshop the next day and they did some programming for 15 minutes and the check engine light turned off and everything was going fine. Again, on the way home and after about 40 miles driving that hammering sound from the injectors came back!
The sound kept going for about 30 minutes then it was gone for the rest of the ride and now the pickup is running fine for a day but don't know what will happen tomorrow!
Was this normal, replacing an engine and the injectors went crazy hammering?!
Was this really a computer programming issue?
Will the problem come back in the future?
Please anyone could help me or give any advice that would be much appreciated.
Please note that the new engine installed was 2019 engine same model (Nissan np300)
Thanks in advance.
