Ok so had a go at fitting the engine in today as the gearbox is sorted and mounted up to the car. First thing we noticed is that the sump is too big to be placed in at the same time with the engine :loser . I know in the YD25 engine the sump comes in two pieces making it easy to remove the engine, unfortunately the QD32 sump is one big piece :dunno . The only way round to get the engine in and the sump together was to remove the front 4 wheel drive shaft and components in order to slide in the sump from the bottom and the engine coming in from the top. Fun non the less getting the front 4 wheel components off.

So since the engine is in, I (we) can get started on the engine mountings for the Nav, should be working on that on Monday/Tuesday hopefully.

Apart from that slow progress but progress non the less.

Think its almost about time I updated this page...

So 2/3 months down the line :faint, we've mananged to get the bad boy started and a test drove it on the road and so far all so good apart from the manual pump running slugish when idling but no complaints with the foot down >:)... Just trying to source another pump for it as would be cheaper to get a recon pump to repairing the one I have.

Will have to get some time soon to finish the wright up of whats been done to the truck from the last post but some points i'll list below and pics to follow later are: -

1. Realigned engine mountings and engine to fit snug in.
2. Fitted mounting brackets on top of the engine for the inter-cooler
3. Some fancy pipe works and welding for the water pipes, turbo and steering pump pipes
4. Fitted an accelerator cable from drivers paddle to manual pump.

Just a few to list but a lot to say about them and pics to be shown, will post some stuff tonight or tomorrow and final set of the wright up by the end of the week with the bad boy on the road.

All in all i been a fun swap but well worth it if I must say.

:cheers2:

Hold on...QD32 has no turbo, right?
Or I just haven't seen turbo versions?
Diff might need changing and bellhousings.
accelerator pedal will need changing to have a cable type, maybe even drilling a hole.
Mashona cables can do a custom cable for you.
Are you selling the old engine? Am in Zim.
QD32 came turbo in Jap import R50 Terranos till ZD30 came online. Usually electronic pump though. Hence ETi.

Ok so I think I may have just gone and lost my mind n done a dumb thing lol...time will tell.. :confetti :confetti

So i've gone n got a qd32t engine to replace the yd25 one. So far i've drooped the gearbox and now swapped the bellhousing to fit on to the engine. Now currently waiting on the manual pump, flywheel, pressure plate and clutch for the engine as the one on the is and automatic flywheel even though had asked for manual engine :clap when i ordered it . Will try get some pics up of the progress of how its going and hopefully not a bad choice done despite being given an auto engine.
I know dis is an old thread.
But I am on the same route now..dies a qd32 bellhousin directly fit on a yd25 gearbox?

Its okay we here to help. With the bell-housing you would need to get a td 27 bell-housing and a spigot shaft from a car breaker or online and then get a mechanic who's good with gearbox's to swap those over for you on your current yd25 gearbox, then you good to go.

Also a side note, just check the qd32 engine once done or during the process your water pipes and oil pipes are in good shape as they tend to either burst or develop a leak over time especially the water one

Hi guys been a while since I've posted on here. I was wondering if anyone has done an engine conversion of their Nissan Navara YD25 to either a TD27 or TD30 Terrano engine and of which is the best to put in and instructions of how to go about's it.

I've just had about enough with the YD25 messing up the big end bearings and after 3 engine rebuilds i'm sure its time to do a :eekout runner from the engine. lol.

If anyone can help would be greatly appreciated
Hi
I saw your previous post about replacing a yd25 engine with a td27t. Are there other modifications required on the gearbox or the engine just fits?

Hi, if managed to go through everything and fiting the qd32 engine and maintaining the yd25 gearbox make sure you change the bellhousing and pigshoft for the td27 bellhousing and spigot shaft

yd25 to td27 is similar to the swap i did to the tee
Sorry you said its simillar to wat?
Does it mean i can replace yd25 bell housing with td27 bellhousing, put a td27 spigot shaft, change mountings and everything should be set to put a td27 turbo engine on my nissan navara. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Good morning fellow zimbo, I'm in blues. To the question asked yes that's correct and on the mounting be mostly the drivers side mounting would need to make an adjustment on.
