Why do that mate when you have warranty on the truck? :scratch:Warpa said:Cool, i wonder if Milner sell those seals, could order the UJ's at the same time and get it all fited, then clean the oil off :afro:
Would the UJ's be covered? Thought that would be wear and tear.Lil'Trucker! said:Why do that mate when you have warranty on the truck? :scratch:Warpa said:Cool, i wonder if Milner sell those seals, could order the UJ's at the same time and get it all fited, then clean the oil off :afro:
To be perfectly honest i have absolutely no faith in them down at Westway, there is not one true mechanic down there  It cost me 46 quid for front and rear UJ and pinion seal, proper mechanic down the road will fit it all for 60 quid, money well spent and its a proper job done.Lil'Trucker! said:I suppose it depends on milage mate, but why not take it in?
That was my point and my fear, fine if they fitted a new prop, but i just get the feeling that stripping old UJ's and fitting new is out of their league...**** poor when you think about it as a basic mechanical job  Im just going from past experience with the dealer here, when you ak the service desk or the main 'mechanic' questions it draws blank expressions :? Ask them about tuning and you may as well be talking in Taiwanise :lol:sheepy said:I had two uj's done under warranty. Having said that when I had to do one myself after warranty was out it looked like the Nissan Numpties had done a wee bit of damage to my propshaft yokes (the alloy is pretty soft!) so you may be right to trust it with your own mechanic who knows what he is doing!!

They had my old truck in 3 times because my rear lights failed, 1st visit they said it was because of a bad earth on the tow bar, it had to fail 2 more times with the same bad earth untill they fixed it ***, even i know how to make a good connection
Ohhhhh there's a definate '''need''' for it mate. bloody brillant !!! When i was ordering, i wasn't going to bother with sat nav at ÂŁ1300. But when they explained it wasn't just sat nav, was also reversing camara, music box, ipod conectivity etc etc, i said to my self sod it ,i'll find the dosh somehow !!! Glad i did too...........sheepy said:Warpa said:That was my point and my fear, fine if they fitted a new prop, but i just get the feeling that stripping old UJ's and fitting new is out of their league...**** poor when you think about it as a basic mechanical job  Im just going from past experience with the dealer here, when you ak the service desk or the main 'mechanic' questions it draws blank expressions :? Yeah I know what you mean, I have enjoyed this past year as my truck is out of warranty, now if something is wrong you just get on and fix it properly rather than taking it to see the numpties, for them to tell you what you already knew but that you will have to bring it back in when they have the time/parts/can be ***** to fix it![]()
Having said that I am having a real battle with myself just now as I cant get it out of my head that I 'need' a brand new one! Also convincing myself that I need a Tekna with sat nav, maybe auto as well. Will be a bit of a step up as I only have a SE just now![]()

Fit uprated non Nissan parts that last and are fitted by people that know how to. Expensive stuff and ill get it done under warranty :salute:
