So it would apear ive found the leak, cheers for the sooty comment Andy, didnt even notice it!

undone the top bolt, and it came away! the bottom bolt was not doing much, looks like someones overtightened it and ripped all the thread out splendid!

Does look like theres a bit of thread left at the back of the hole, so off to my shed to hunt for a bolt with thread all the way along, for now until i can drill and helicoil it, for a bit of that blanking off action

dam thread is too buggered, removed the whole valve, will take it to work tonight and drill and helicoil it, with a new bolt. might aswell make a new gasket too with no hole in it

give it a good clean as well matey and try and clean the inlet while its in bits

will do the bits ive got off are well sooted up!

all re tapped, new longer bolts and a blanking plate made up, ready for when I get up this afternoon

All back on and tested , no more noise / leak :cheers:

the original m8 bolts only went into the egr about 5/6 mm as the thread stops 4 mm before the end of the bolt?

Tapped both threads again, and used some proper M8 bolts with a 13mm head ( not the nissan 12mm ? ) that were 30mm long.

And whilst it was off it was rude not to blank it off so slipped the below plate back in there with the gasket.

cheers people, now thats sorted i can think about ordering some 22's now :lol:
