Now I have searched for Limp mode... there are loads of threads but nothing really discussed about it...! lol

I've had my Nav since 19th August... done around 1,700 miles... drove my mum and 2 friends PLUS 3 bikes from Surrey to Vauxhall on Sun morning so they could do that "skyride" bike thing in London. Went back to pick them up in the afternoon.... then went out around 6pm... so the Nav was hot all day...

Was on the M25 doing about 70-90mph for about 40 minutes... no problems... pulled off the M25 and drove for about 10 minutes on A roads and roundabouts. Went straight across a roundabout, pulled off in 3rd/4th gear and accellerated to about 3k revs.... engine died... engine malfunction light came on (solid - mild engine fault - still safe to drive). Then Nav entered limp mode... I managed to pull into a side road and turned the engine off, I read the book for a few minutes... then re-started the engine, and it was fine the rest of the evening.... however I did take it very easy (not going about 2k revs).

My dad's an ex-machanic and says this could be a serious fault with the rear engine seal, and a big job as they have to remove gearbox, clutch etc to get to it!!!

The usual problem that causes limp mode is an unexplained error code in the ecu. You could clear it with the ecu reset but frankly I'd be straight down the dealers. Get the code read and they can then sort it under warranty.
I have never heard of any sort of problem relating to the engine problem you describe, suppose there is always a first time! The engines are pretty much foolproof, it is nearly always the electronics or fuelling that let them down.

Will have to book it into Nissan soon. But it's been FINE since Sunday night...! Since then I've driven from Milton Keynes to Surrey.... then on Monday I drove into Hammersmith.... then Fleet... and Wimbledon...!

Maybe it was a one off...

No I didn't get the code before clearing it ;) lol

Well it happened again today on the A31...! With a BMW right up my ass if that wasn't bad enough! lol

Luckily my dad's just gone on holiday for 2 weeks so can borrow his Terrano while mine's with Nissan...

There's nothing better than going for an overtake and have it die on you when ya out there!
Mine does this a fair bit.
To sort the problem, i just dont overtake! lol!
It used to stall like a pig, so now i'm happy just having the limp mode problem.

Just drive like ya 87 and it will be fine

Ok now many people do we have with this "limp mode" problem.....

I have been back from Nissan dealers about half hour....... I will be letting you all know what went on later... but I am not impressed... their response was completely unacceptable... and they tried to charge me ÂŁ200 for their trouble!

This is why i still have the problem fella.

All started just out of warranty... they plugged it in and couldnt find the fault!
They wanted to try the 'suck it and see' approach and that was gonna cost ÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁ!

When i took it in the first thing they said after coming out of hiding was " not another one" this filled me confidence i can tell ya.
Until Nissan agree there is a problem and fix the thing for free, i will just put up with it.

Not looking forward to the winter tho as i have STT's on and they are no good in snow or ice, and i expect they will spin up quite a bit and bring on the Limp mode alot.

Hope you get some joy mate
