I have got one of the first D40's with the early engine that has run well but now has 175k on the clock and am thinking of going for a new 190bhp D40 Acenta but am a bit worried about all the posts regarding problems with the 2007/2009 engines, (even my local nissan dealer admitted that the earlier engine was better) so the question - is the new 190 engine solid or is it just the 2007/2009 engine tweaked ?? any inside info or more info on the different engines fitted to d40's over the years would be appreciated as if the 190 could be just as iffy then i think i might just take a chance with mine and try to get another year out of it, Thanks

the 190bhp engine is the same as old but with any issues from the 171-174bhp engine sorted.

I think the 190bhp also comes with a different turbo now to.

get a 190bhp mate they got like stink, the one ive got at the mow pull like a train and good on fuel 32/34 and ive got a heavy right foot, not sure what there done to the engines but the pull alot better than them 174s they just seem falt and dead to me, but watch out for other things on them mine has been a pain since day one and now getting it replaced with another new one, its been so much trouble half of that was casued by the dealer but there going to replace it so why should i worry plus i go from :thumbright: a 10 plate to a 60 plate

I've got a heavy ish right foot and the computer tells me i'm only getting 25. something so not sure about that, but still a bloody brillant machine !!!!

32/34 with a heavy right foot!
Is anyone else getting these figures from the new Navara?
I currently have a 2007 Navara and I tow a small trailer for my work, it weighs about 500kg and I only get 20mpg all day long sat at normal towing speeds. If the above is correct, then I will bee making a trip into my local dealer to have a look through my options.

Also, are the new 190s that much better? I use mine all the time and do a lot of miles, so I always go for a high spec, but they are rather pricey at the moment. Is it really worth changing now or hold on to mine for another year until I can get a year old 190 with low miles??

As i said above mate, i've a heavy(ish) right foot, but am def not a loony etc, and i'm only getting 25/26/27.(that's no towing/no weight). As for the vehicle itself i love it, would not go back to the 07 i had before, def a nice place to be/to drive.

my 2006 euro 3 nav was far better on fuel than my current nav

2006 euro 3 nav would easy pull 34mpg, normal driving....and approx 30ish mpg driving like a loon

2008 euro 4 nav standard was lucky if i would get 25mpg normal driving.....and approx 20mpg driving like a loon

so hoping my new one will be alot better when it arrives or at least back to the mpg my first nav did.

I sure ain't. See discussion here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6774&start=0&hilit=miles+tank

As for is the new model worth it - depends on you I guess. I think the biggest change is the nicer interior. If you're after creature comfort and you get one of the higher spec models I think it might well be worth it. Will the 190hp model run rings around the previous one in all respects? No. Whether you get your money's worth is really up to you.

Going for a low-mileage facelift in 9 months time is probably a sensible option.

It pretty much all new turbo, head , injectors a good upgrade for a pickup user.
Guys, do you think we can buy those upgrade and get the same specs as the new 190hp? apart from installing DTE of course.

I was thinking of putting in the frontier V6 engine or even Titan V8
