This isn't really relevant (i know) But seeing a lot of video's on youtube and having kinda a sleeper truck, i wanted to know what was possible with this engine & transmission. So i took the truck out and did a test. At first i saw around 10 sec to 100kph. So i removed the winter tires, put fresh summer tires and put 2.5 bar in the tires. The best i saw was 9.0sec/100kph. So i waited to have a dry day, at night (for the cold air) and put some more pressure (2.7bar). Today i did a test and this was the result! 8.0 Seconds - 100kph. The truck is bonestock! No chip, no coldair intake, no exhaust, no ....only thing that has been changed are some summer 255/55/18 tires which are slightly different to the 255/60/18 tires it came from the factory. To achieve this, Put the car in sport mode, leave the esp ON and go! I've tried several tries and this is how i achieved my best time.
8 sec/100 is bmw 525d (218hp) territory. Just imagine in your bmw and a truck is as fast as your bmw but weighs a lot more?
:screwy

Anyone got a faster time? Maybe

Well i found a video of a bmw 525d (218hp) Xdrive and it did 0-100 in exactly the same time, tho on a circuit the bmw will definitely be faster and get better mpg!
About the weight, yes those F10 series bmw weigh a lot. With xdrive it weighs +- 1750kg the V6 Navara weighs about 2150kg so 400kg in weight difference!

Result is @ 1:50

I'm curious how the np300 will perform, the best i got from my "old" D40 was around 10,5 seconds...

Your making my 2.5ltr Truck jealous :cry

If you reduce the circumference of tyres by changing to a different size/type/brand, you will obviously get slighty better acceleration as you are, in effect, changing the overall gearing!

Similarly, acceleration will reduce with tyres of a larger circumference (or indeed with a higher rolling resistance).

Do not forget that the speedometer will also start undereading/overeading if you change effective tyre diameter, but I assume nobody would seriously try to measure 0-60 (or 0-100kph, about 62mph) by using the speedo - it is near impossible to get accurate numbers.

Also you need to be on a flat, straight road, and take several reading in BOTH directions, and average them (for reasons too obvious to state).

Well my test was 1 way only, it was on a flat road that was a little bit wet and there was very little wind.

The 0-100kph time (not 0-60, that time would be slightly faster) wasn't done using the speedometer but using an app on my phone.

Yeah indeed , anything under 10 sec is a good acceleration for a truck, like the Ford F-150 2.7 ecoboost did a 0-60!!! not 62! in 5.9 seconds but thats with lots of brake torque to make the engine rev very high. But just imagine if mine got tuned and a bit of braketorque, then i might see 7 seconds!!

But for now i'm done reading acceleration times as i don't want to destroy the truck and besides its not made for that so, for the moment just riding on big waves of mad torque :partycheer:

A 2015 Ford F-150 2.7 Ecoboost did a 0-60 in 5.485 seconds, thats the fastest stock truck i have ever seen !!!
