Right ill tell the full story
For a few months now every now and then (only when engines cold) if I accelerate hard she goes into limp (no power/struggling to maintain speed) if I pull over and switch off and on again everything is fine
However today it did it twice within minutes and the second time I got a fault light on the dash (first time it's done that)
Plugged my bluetooth obd2 adapter in and got

bearing in mind before I reset the fault I did the usual turn off and on and she drove fine again but with the light still on
1 since nissan isn't listed is it still acelerator position sensor?
2 can the acelerator position sensor cause these symptoms?
3 what is it? / were is it? And is it a diy job to replace ?
4 why does it only do it when the engine is cold? Never done it after 2-3 minutes of driving

regarding p1272
So I'm I pi$$ing on the wrong tree with the accelertor pedal? and maby should be looking at the fuel pump valves?

It could be the pressure relief valve on the end of the common rail, the fuel rail pressure rises when revving then drops dramatically if your pressure relief valve dumps prematurely if the spring goes weak. I think the link you posted shows how to strip and add a shim to pack the spring.
If you don't want to try that, Billcar stock new dump valves. (or did)
If your going down the dump valve route, I would buy a new one. I've had a sensor blow straight out of the common rail, after a bit of shimming.
