Guys - apologies if this has been discussed previously but I couldn't locate anyone who has encountered the same issue...
I've just taken receipt of an Oz spec D40 ST-X Navara (2.5TD) A/T with the 'genuine' bluetooth hands-free kit fitted but immediately noticed that the Audio system needs to be powered on to get sound...
i.e. A call comes in and the audio system is off - I can answer the call via the vehicle's button (not the steering mounted control btw) but I will not get sound until I also turn on the audio head-unit.
The dealer tells me this is normal but I'm not convinced - shouldn't the hands-free unit power up the speakers independently of the audio head-unit?
Keep in mind this is the Australian spec vehicle and only has a fairly basic head-unit (6 stacker)... hopefully there's some Oz spec members who can confirm/deny what the dealer is telling me...
Cheers.
