Hi guys
I have a nissan navara outlaw 56 plate,we got water in the gear box due to a leak in the heat exchanger allowing water into the gear box and oil into the engine rad and cooling system.we sealed the ports of the heat exchanger effectivley seperating the two systems.therfor using the transmission radiator as the only cooling for ATF oil,we flushed the system with the vehicle stationary, first time we emptied the ATF via the drain plug (gungy liquid)then flushed through oil was visably clearer but not perfect, secondly we refilled with ATF and ran the vehicle for 5 mile, near the end of the run it was struggling to change gear, we emptied the ATF fluid it was watery again, but not as anywhere near as bad as the initial extracrtion of fluid.i wonder if driving helped the fluid get into all those tight places that it could,nt reach by flushing alone.i intend to now refill with new ATF (10.31Ltr) and drive the next 5 mile.are we on the right track? and any advice would be greatfully recieved.
Thanks
Kye.
