Not long back from Namibia, 2 week self drive safari. They gave me this to drive:

The 4-pot petrol engine was a bit of shock compared to the D40. Not helped by the 30 gallons and fuel and 4 people I suppose but flat out on the few tarmac roads was about 80mph. On the gravel roads about 60mph was flat out.
Did about 1500kms on mostly gravel roads with the odd tarmac or sandy section for a change. Nearly everybody drives white pickups, Nissan's and Toyota's although very few D40's compared to late model Hilux's.
