Hi All

Test drive a auto connect today, very nice, I wasn't thinking of have the sat nav but after today I'm having second thoughts, Was told the sat will auto update which means no need to buy new disc for updates ( unlike the mrs Lexus ) which is a big plus. Does That also update on speed cameras, road works too. As I don't need to use the sat much for £1500 would I be better of buying a tom tom live?

Hi, of course it is much more than sat nav, its a bluetooth handsfree kit, dvd player and HDD based music player, it also has iphone connectivity if you require that sort of thing 8)

oh and its gives you all sorts of driving info, fuel consumption etc

I have used the connect system in my loan qashqai and love it, but thats because all the above is right up my street.
If you dont use or want any of the above features then save yourself £1500

one last thing, it seems that most teknas ordered by members have connect, which may have a bearing on the resale value when you come to sell...as in you may have trouble selling a tekna without connect....just my two peneth though

I liked the look of the centre dash much more on the connect. Reverse camera was also appealing. DVD playback for my daughter when I drag her out to work with me at weekends and she needs a break from sheep! Just a combination of all the little things persuaded me that I 'needed' to have it!!

I've not long ordered my connect.

I don't know how often that I'll need to use the sat nav as I pretty much know all the roads around here but I know that at some point it'll come in handy and when your paying the best part of 25K for the truck, to have the rear view camera, HDD and Ipod connectivity in there as well I didn't really see the point of not spending about 5% of the total value to have these nice extras added especially if your gonna keep it for a long time which I'm planning to do. :thumbright:

its the right choice mate, I wouldnt have said before you ordered but I think the whole point of the tekna is the bells and whistles, if you dont need them just buy the acenta
