Hello Everyone,

MY first post of hopefully many. Firstly apologies for any stupid / newbie questions, I did try searching first but couldnt find too much, I have 2 questions and have attached some photo's to hopefully help. We have 2 Nav's and I love them. Mine is a 60 plate and my Dads is a 59 plate.

My first question is can someone tell me the differnece between the 2 consoles pictured below? I belived both cars to be D40's, but mine had different seats (better) and a different console. Both me and my dad prefer mine (the 60 plate model). Is mine simply an updated interior? Mine also has a USB slot in the glovebox that I play music from :clappy:

My second question(s) relates to the maps and navigation software. Mine seems far superior and looks visually better than my dads. He cannot enter postcodes on his and this is a bit of a pain but bareable, I can enter postcodes on my model. Is there anyway I can update mine and his myself, without nissan?

I believe to have found the update for Dads 59 model on these forums (thank you!) please advise if I am mistaken? (http://gpsunderground.com/forum/renault ... 010-a.html) Will this update bring his software in par with mine?

My 60 model, I am not too sure on updating, I thought it was done via usb but when in the menu it says DVD update (as pictured), anyone point me in the directions of updates? Obviously this is fairly new I just want to be on top of things when updates come out, I rely on it quite abit.

Thanks all in advance.

Your Dad has the 170hp d40 you have the new 190hp connect model which came out in early 2010 it has revamped interior and the sat nav is a lot better, its also 150mm longer and has a completly different front end.

As for the map updates there are a few threads on this on this site which will give you all the answers, I have a 2011 D40 Connect it has the most up to date sat nav edition which is 2010 - 2011 so I would think yours is the same.
How do you update both (DVD or USB?)? I'm guessing if you update by DVD you simply put the DVD into the headunit / console CD slot? Thanks for your help

Mutha f***er!!

My Sat/Nav has got a f'ing current map version of 09/10 MAP No.1.[attachment=0:2zbcsqev]Satnav Version.jpg[/attachment:2zbcsqev]

I've only had it a month and they've given me the old SAT/NAV information!! I'll be on to Nissan Customer Service on Monday.

I wonder how many other 'NEW' Tekna and Outlaw owners have got the old map version installed.

AAAaaaaarrrrgghhh!!!!!
That's what version I'm on though??

Hello and welcome mate :thumbright:

As above really, you have one pre facelift and one facelift Nav. Have a look at the front bumper, the older one will have a ridge/lip all the way round, the new one is smooth. The newer one has better seats/reversing camara/improved sat nav/usb for ipod etc .........oh yes, and 20 more bhp :D :D
Hello mate and thank you, great info and quick too, I'm impressed by the site. Haha we actually had em side by side and couldnt notice and differences, DOH! Shows how keen eyed we are!

Hi all, just thought I would give this thread an update, alot more clued up now...I think!

My dad's version (correct me if I am wrong), uses DVD's to run the sat nav, doesnt allow postcode entry
My facelift connect model uses a DVD/USB updates, but the maps are stored on the HDD and allows postcode entry

Happy with my current verion in mine, but anyone know if my dads version has any update to it?

Thanks
