D22 engine swap

Hi Guys, I have been searching for the answer to this question on the forum, but buggered if I can find an answer.
So, here goes.

Will a YD 25 engine from a D40 bolt into a D22?

Will the engine bolt directly to the bell housing, Will the clutch splines match? Will the engine mounts match.

What im asking is, are they the same bare bones engine?

Simple answer is yes.

If you want the power of YD25DDTI then you will need the ECU, otherwise you will need a D22 fuel pump.

Thanks for that Landmannnn,
Mine is a 2008 D22 with YD25DDTI engine.
Is it correct that the D40, with the same engine use a different fuel pump?

I assumed (wrongly,) that you meant a pre 2005 D22.

After 2005, it is the d40 engine in the D22 anyway. No need to swap stuff!
