Havnt had a chance to look at it yet but quite a tinny rattle starting to come from the middle of my d22, sounds like its coming from somewhere around the area below the gear shift, its getting worse daily , just thought id get some ideas from u guys b4 i look at the weekend, truck performs fine and pulls well, where is the cat and could it be falling apart, coul;d this be the excuse i need to go and get a stainless exaust

I had the same problem, it turned out to be the 'rings' at either end of the flexi joint had rotted off and were rattling on the exhaust pipe - I just ground them off and all is well.

I cant really explain it any better, but you will know what i mean if you have a look underneath mate. :?

My exhaust mounts were also rusted to bits. I resecured mine using 'standard' exhaust clamps. I drilled out the captive bolt on the steel bracket, and pushed the end of the 'U' clamp part through and bolted up.

Hope this helps

Mark :thumbleft:

if its the same as mine its welded to the exhaust, mine started to rattle and i found the weld had snapped so quick fix very big jubily clip around the lot no more noise

Mine did the same but i left it too long and the extra strain broke the weld around the flange where the 2 bolt together. Welded the 2 of them up, no probs now.

X2 Did it as a temporary fix earlier this year and haven't had to touch it since :thumbleft:

I fixed the rear bracket just like described above (by oldskoolmark), but I used a better clamp, I drilled a 10.9mm hole and added the clamp, I got this really solid stainless clamp form ebay. I think it I also replaced the rubber hanger(was badly rusted), got that for less than a ÂŁ5 form Camberley Auto-factors.
