X3 deffno the belts :thumbright:
Pour some water on them at start-up and the 'clacking' will go for sure
BTW, also check your water level in the battery, sounds daft I know but mine does it when the level gets low. Top up with distilled water and job done.

I have every faith in the modified bearings, bolts and oil pickup Chris Vince has recomended :salute:
Long-term members will know mine failed at 32K :profiler: following a trip to Spain
I've covered 60K since and with another 5 trips to Southern Spain at speeds of 90-100 mph with high rpm :!: for long periods in temps of 40+ the oil pressure is still the same and engine is sweet :bounce:
In fact a couple of years ago we were late for the ferry and she had to sustain 4250 rpm for quite a while
Anyone else done Santander to Estepona, Costa Del Sol in 8 1/2 hours with stops

can somebody throw some links for the oil pressure pick up pipe mod in here for handiness sake. i need to re read it. as my oil pressure light is flickering when i start the engine for about 5 seconds, i think mines is drawing in air and the pipe gets bleeded empty when sitting over night.
All this information is in the D22 tech section as a sticky :study:
It's not unusual for the oil light to take a few seconds to extinguish, that's why Chris Vince and myself never use the glowplugs to start our engines. This extra cranking primes the oil pump to gain pressure before firing :thumbright:
I've found that if your engine is in good condition you should not need to 'glow it' regardless of the weather.

Nice one woz :D when the d22 is sorted ie shells bearings oil feed pickup pipe and bolts it's a very very good truck :D that's why I'm going to hang on to mine for a long time I've spent the money getting her right and she does me proud I have no worrys doing a 700 mile round trip to Cornwall at all sorts of speeds with no problems just regular services, that's why my truck is staying in the fish family for a long time

Yes Paul mines a 'keeper' to :thumbright:
In the time during ownership a Patrol and Pathfinder have come and gone but the D22 remains :D
This truck is so reliable, cheap to run and vesatile, I'd be mad to get rid of her
I'm out to run this 'ole girl into the ground and beyond
