Hi to all I'm in need some help and advise and here seems to be the best place to find it so thanks in advance all

I have bought a navara tekna 2009 I gave it a service only to find out the person I bought it off putt thick oil in it to hide the noisy timing chain so now a month later it's starting to cut out and the rattle is bad so I'm looking at doing a duplex change my self I'm pretty good with the mechanics and have been looking at chain kits I've found one with a converted bottom sprocket so I I don't have to do the shaft but it's a German made kit are these worth getting and is there a guide to fitting I haven't got the money to pay the bilcar one and have seen a few reports if bad eBay buys but are they duplex or single chain thanks in advance it has broke me thus navara took all my cash to buy it and now I can't even get to work I Dare not drive it anymore in case it breaks

I thought that the sensor in the yellow circle is the crankshaft position sensor (this is what i disconnected)but after an
internet search i think that the one in the red circle is the crankshaft pos sensor(or camshaft angle sensor).
Is it the same thing or i am totally wrong and disconnected the wrong cables(again!)???
Can someone clarify this for me, everywhere i searched seems that noone states where its position is and if indeed is the same sensor or 2 different

Sorry I didn't even notice you said crankshaft position sensor. You want to disconnect the CAMshaft position sensor for the timing chain test. This is on top of the engine at the rear of the cam/tappet cover on the cylinder head. See attached picture.

But as I said if the vehicle isn't cutting out around 5 seconds after startup when cold then this won't tell you anything.

I followed the yd25.com.au guide for the streched chain but nothing happened.
I disconnected the camshaft sensor when cold and fired up and nothing, it idled normally no stalls nor anything abnormal.
The truck is a VSK.
I tried to pull out what i originally thought is the crankshaft angle sensor(sideways to the oil sump) and a burst of oil came out and shoved it back in.
I almost s**t myself when the oil came out!
That was too close!
Well tommorow is a new day maybe i 'll pull out something else and see what happens lol
Can please someone show me with a photo where the crankshaft sensor is so i can take it out and check it for damage?
And what the hell was that that i pulled out?

I think he meant you were only to DISCONNECT the sensor, NOT remove it!
