Hi all my key is not turning the ignition on unless I give the steering a good wiggle and then I just noticed that the steering wheel doesn't lock. Any advise much appreciated

Sounds like the steering lock is not working properly. i had a mate once who drove an Astra which would occasionally lock while driving. Needless to say we didn't accept many lifts off him!
My nav steering lock don't work eather!
Just figured it didn't have one as the auto gearbox locks into park without the key
Worth noting it's not the original ignition barrel though! Mabey previous owner didnt put it back together properly?
