Hi all just joined.

Having a little trouble with works truck at the moment. Went for quite a long motorway journey over the weekend (probably the longest since we've had her). About 1 hour into the journey I was sweating my socks off! The gearbox was super hot so I pulled over had a check of the block which was the same issue, extremely hot. Turns out oil was completely empty (worrying I know) however were fairly confident shes never leaked. Filled her back up with some oil but we still have the same issue. After a short while of driving she starts to seriously over heat. Weird thing is the thermostat always stays at the same level+ there was no oil light!

Any ideas?

Sorry countryman.

The engine oil was empty (obviously not completely else it would have seized right). Water was fine, just extremely hot. Re-filled with castrol 10W-40 diesel oil now.

when you refer to the thermostat are you talking about the engine temp gauge?
Sounds to me as though the head gasket has gone

Yep the engine thermostat remains constant. I suppose the best thing to do would be to run a diagnostics test eh..
