Could anyone tell what causes the heater to blow colder on tickover on my 54 plate D22 Navara, when you increase the revs it blows warm again, I've got no other cooling system problems.

Pretty much the same with all turbo diesels, they don't generate enough heat at tickover to warm the heater. Some cars/4x4's even have a diesel fuelled heater to warm the cooling circuit.
