Thanks guys,

Bar and snorkel both genuine options here. Up here in the tropics there is over 2 meters of rain a year . Not planing to cross any deep rivers or creeks but it pays to be prepaired.
The Bull Bar (or rightfully should be named roo bar) as you wouldn't want to hit any bulls with it. Is more for those rogue roos and wallibies. Don't plan on fitting a winch as I don't plan to get that far bogged

I have noticed your D40 Navs are far more speced up than ours.

Welcome to the forum!

Yeah us winging pommes like our toys

Hello and Welcome.

Nice looking truck. I love the winch bumper. Don't think they're available here though. :(
I think they would hang you in the town square over here in Belgium if you dared buying a bar like that for your Nav. Not pedestrian friendly enough according to the smart people in Brussels.

As someone said on here before when those pedestrian safety laws were being discussed: "If you're hit by a Navara, the least of your worries will be the bumper"

it's like forcing a law to put cushions and teddy-bears on the front of 18wheelers so the pedestrians are safer when they get hit by it at 40mph in the middle of town. makes it a bit more comfortable, but most likely won't change the outcome.
on the other hand the new ranger got incredibly high marks for pedestrian safety, even better than small, "conventional" cars like a bmw 1series or an astra. that might get a little bit worse with something like that up front *g*
personally, i would go for a huge bar, too. because honestly, when i hit something i'm primarily concered about me and whoever is with me, and only secondarily about who is/was in front of me. and for that, i think that bumper will work just right.
but down under things are different. i remeber when i was there even a lot of station wagons and small hatchbacks had large front bars, and most of them weren't for show

I think the distinction is the difference between a bull-bar and a roo-bar. Bull-bars are there to look good when you drive around the town in your nice shiny truck. Roo-bars are there to kill wildlife! :pork:

Hello & welcome, bumper & winch look a bit tasty.

Welcome Tappet,

That's a neat looking truck, the Roo bar bumper would be ideal for me :thumbright:
LSW1 do you think we would get away with fitting it if we called it a deer bar    I've only got the one deer this year but the 1.5 / 2 mile bit of road approaching my track has a kill rate of about one a week and I know Mull has a bigger problem with them.

nice looking truck Tappet

Ok, Thanks agian guys.
Still have a couple of mods to go yet. 2" lift with Bilstiens, 3" turbo back exhaust. Not a mod but need some decent tyres. The highway style All Terrains are hopeless in the loose stuff.

^ The USA. They get the VQ40 in every model to.

Nissan the moron's only offered it in the STX Dual Cab.

Atleast Toyota offer the 4L V6 in every model. Even the 2WD Single cab from memory.

Nissan do some rediculous things.

They YD25 is offered in 98Kw in the D22, 110Kw in the D40 Single cab, 126Kw in the ST and STX King Cab and 140Kw in the Dual Cab STX.

Perhaps if Nissan followed Toyota's lead they might keep up in sales and reduce the cost of everything.

STX Dual cabs have different Chassis's to every other D40 sold in Australia.

Bullbars wont interchange, Rear bumpers etc.

Aye a deer bar would be ideal, I think our Red Deer population is bigger than the human population.
