If it has the YD25DDTi engine there is no micro filter, these were on the TD25 engine.

i belive its the YD25 engine not sure on the DDTI bit
tryed a search on site for micro filter and cant find its location i have noticed a small filter on top of the tank
if water in the system thought the filter should catch it and after re fitting with fresh fuel would have thought it would have briefly started even to just run on whats in filter
baffling me as i did 9 mile after the jet was before it lost power

No micro filter then.
A few older D22's have suffered with rotted metal fuel pipes were it exits the tank, if yours was covered in crud cleaning it off may have let air into a porous pipe?
When I change a fuel filter I always try to purge the air from the very last connection on the fuel pump, loosen this off and work the primer pump until bubble free fuel comes from the loose joint, then tighten up and start the engine.
These engine do not tolerate any air whatsoever in the system!
