Hi all - Right here it goes...! I'm a very loyal Honda owner, I have owned 2 Civics and my recent is a 2.2 ctdi CR-V. I have done over 120,000 miles in them combined without a single problem. But I now need a bigger car... and for that I need to move over to a different manufacturer!
Now here it comes... I love the Navara... and I would really like this as my next car. It has to be the Aventura, and in Silver...! I've been looking at models with less than 40k miles on for about ÂŁ12-15,000.
Main thing I have to ask is engine/model... I've been reading about the Euro3/Euro4 models... am I correct in saying that the Euro 3 are 05, 55, 06 and 56 plates... and Euro 4 is 07 onwards. I've read that the Euro 3 feels faster and has better economy... but this is the engine with all the problems....?!?! If I want as low risk of problems as possible should I be buying the Euro 4...
I've heard about new Navaras going through 2-3 clutches before 20k miles and engines blowing up at 60k... is there anything I can look for or do to avoid this!! Would an extended warranty from a third party cover these problems?
Other thing is about load space in the back... I'm an electrical and data engineer so carry about ÂŁ2,000 of tools and equipment with me, and I'm worried about the dryness of the back... I'm looking at the mountain top... as this looks the best... but is it very watertight...? Am I right in saying that the hoods are the best bet for dryness?
I'd really appreachiate some help... I've done my research and still want to go ahead and get a Navara but the extra info would be great!
Thanks, Adam
