Look what some nice tosser did to my Nav today.

Was on a roundabout in a que of traffic at the lights, i pulls off with the traffic in the correct lane for where i was going, when a car came out of nowere and desided he was going the same way as me and just drove in the side of me and booted it off, by the time i relized what had happened and tryed to give chace he was 4 cars in front of me, just not close enough to see his reg number, i really tryed to give chace, but he was just a absolute lune!!! cutting people up over taking on blind bends etc....so i just stopped trying. I could make out that it was a new shape ford mondeo in a sliverish colour, but it just all happened so fast and the shock as i wasnt expecting it as i was just minding my own business and following the traffic.

Phoned the Police, as helpful as ever, said they couldnt do much without the reg number.

So the car was either stolen or the driver was either drunk, no insurance or liecence etc...as you just wouldnt try and get away like that if you didnt have summat to hide!!!

So i phoned insurance and when i relized they wanted ÂŁ800 out of me for the excess i told them to stick it and ill get it fixed myself as it just needs a front wing and a small dent sorting on drivers door. side step has been bent but im not to ***** about that as i can sort that out.

So went to nissan and a front wing costs......wait for it........ÂŁ320  so ive placed the order for the wing as i wanted genuine nissan part and a mate is gunna spray it for me and sort the door for ÂŁ150. so ive saved money there and not lose my no claims etc....

So ill also get the tracking checked as he did catch the front wheel as well just to be on the safe side...

I know what your saying mate not been there and seeing what was going on around I would of done the same most likely. When I got my first D40 march 2006, I only had it 6 days and a drunk driver pulled out on me. I broke his Car in half and spun a parked corsa 180 degrees. My first Thorght was I'm going to kill him.....then was he all right. When I got to him he was fine apart for the smell of booze. Now did I do right or did I not ? I sent him home for after he rang his insurance and say it was his fault. I was hoping they would right it off, but they repaired it for ÂŁ12,500. Did have a proper paint job after.

Sorry to hear your news Andy, as has already been said there some toerags about who don't give a damn about others peoples stuff. I had a similar thing happen to me about 12 months back in one of my company vans.
Hope you get her back to her former glory soon and that Mondeo man doesn't get away with that kind of driving for much longer.

You're not having any luck are you Andy! For every good driver theres three inconsiderate w@nkers and it looks like you've had the misfortune of being in the way of one of them  Not a cheap job to put right either but it will be right when its done using genuine panels, at least you or anybody else wasn't hurt mate :) What goes round comes round though they reckon :thumbleft:

Oh Andy I'm so sorry to hear that.

Just after I passed my test I was driving down a narrow road in Bewdley, some boy racers came round the bend and didn't slow down, I moved right onto the pavement and they still hit me, my wing mirror came off. I wasn't as cool as you, I sat there in shock for a few secons and meekly went to park.

Hope that idiot gets his comeuppance... Big hugs xxx

sorry to hear about your bad luck ... the aggro i've had is not near this nightmare thats happened to you but the quip about people in general not giving a t0$$ about ones' hard earned property is spot on ... I've had my truck keyed, been spat at in traffic jams, even had quite a few completely unprovoked "w****r" and fingers, not to mention quite nasty eyeballing ... and a so-called-mate threatened to write it off after a disagreement ... I think he's been watching too many violent brit flicks ... the saddest thing is if you squared up to these malicious airheads YOU would be on the wrong side of the law and have the book thrown at you because you have something worth having, to lose. and they'd get away with damaging it when you're not about. complete injustice...

fair play for getting it sorted off your own back and graft, and just think - YOU dealt with it, you sorted it, you don't need to prove anything to anyone. when anyone's sniping at it in whatever way I just smile and say to myself yes yes yes it may get damaged but I'M driving it, not them, so grind that into the crack-pipe and smoke it ...

stay cool geez ... :sunny:

PS did anyone see or hear of the sucidal kamikaze transit van on kent m25 sunday pm? the craziest driving I've ever seen...
