It’s driving me mad and I don’t want to damage them....

I can’t for the life of me get them to unlclip! It’s very tight in there and I don’t want to remove the battery or the headlight itself....this is just the plastic plug connector....... anyone done it or know how they come apart please?

I ended up removing the battery. Similar to you I was looking for a feed from the side-lights, to power some orange LEDs behind the grill. I couldn't make any sense of the headlight wiring, I measured everything, there are no simple 'on-off' wires, it's all CAN bus'd, I gave up.

Thanks! That saves me a lot of faffing around. If there is no direct 12v feed that comes live with the headlight I won’t bother either!

I’ll see if I get flashed or pulled over! CAN stuff is a real pain to deal with.

The rear lights! Thats about the furthest point away possible to my fogs.... i'll find one in the engine bay. No need to mess with anything expensive just wanting to fly lead off the headlight terminal.

CANbus is rocket science to me as I don't have a clue how it works!

good luck finding one in the engine bay thats linked to the head lights . I thought you couldnt find one so wanted suggestions. Mine isnt as stupid as it sounds as you can route a single cable straight back up the inside of the Chassis to the fogs the rears arent on the CAN.
It doesn’t need to be the headlights it just needs to become live when the headlight is on, so something like the circuit that switches the DRL to position lamps, or perhaps the light sensor.... so it would be great if I could get the plug off the back of the LED headlight to test........ If not I will certainly look at your suggestion as I am fitting the tailgate lock soon, I’ll run a single along with it back to the front end.

I’ll have to go underneath the vehicle though which isn’t ideal..... I have too much in the way to go through the tub & cargo/hard top.

Thanks for the idea....Cheers.

Does your hardtop have CL ? As if it does you dont need to go up to front end with wiring . For under a tenner(£5) you can CL the tailgate .

Yes I did see that thread...... too late though!!

Yes I have the premium Nissan hardtop with CL and it now doesn’t leak at all so I’m keen to leave it where it is.

I have already bought the eagle kit and I doubt they’d take it back as I’ve had it a month already..... however I guess I can still tap in to the hardtop wiring and save myself running cables.

All points to throwing these DRL’s away as they seem to interfere with the DAB signal too!! Haha.....

Edit... I can’t get my money back on them either as I have sprayed them black! Its going well :D
