So I need to take my canopy off and usualy I use a pulley set up on my garage roof but that's not an option at the moment because im storing my dads car in there and he's in Australia with the keys
So I'm gona have to lift it off by hand but since ive never lifted it by hand before , ive no idea how heavy it is!
My plan is to put a couple of lengths of 3x2 through the roof bars (I know they can take the weight cos i use them to lift it off with the pulleys) and have me and a mate at each side to lift but i dont want to get there and realise its too heavy to lift or worse drop it!
Cheers guys

I've lifted mine up by myself. I couldn't remove it completely alone, but definitely could with someone else to help.

yes, two people relatively easily. I guess around 100-150kg. Pretty much the same as Jem - easily moved inside the tub with your arched back.
I have not had a canopy on my D40, but did have one on my D22. That one was max 50kg, no side windows though but still I would think it was actually less. Weight wise it would have not been a problem to lift it alone. Before selling it I moved it in my basement alone easily. Just the sheer size of it makes it hard (read: impossible if you don't want to damage/scratch anything) to install alone. On and off definitely a two man job.

But 100kg seems quite a lot. What should weigh so much there? It is basically a GRP box with possibly some small glass attached?

Jobs done it wasn't too bad the two of us lifted it off no problems
The only thing that caught us off guard is it was back heavy on the door side
And this morning I picked up its replacement
